A Wiltshire Bobby Van Volunteer is someone who, through personal choice, commits time and energy to perform a task at the direction and on behalf of the Trust. They agree to do this without the expectation of compensation or financial reward, except for the payment of pre-determined out of pocket expenses.
Training can be given for particular tasks and if driving a Police marked vehicle an advanced driving test will need to be taken at the Police HQ in Devizes.

Stay Safe Online Volunteers Required
Only basic computer knowledge needed. This role if for those who wish to make a real difference to the care of vulnerable people in our communities. The Stay Safe Online volunteer will assist in the provision of information and advice on computer and internet security. This will be done both one-to-one and to groups.
The volunteer will work with individuals in their own home, when required, firstly assessing how the individual use their internet enabled technology and then providing advice and guidance to both make them less likely to be a victim of crime and to feel safer using the internet. With groups, the volunteer will cover the same objectives but to community groups and organisations.
The volunteer will be working as part of the Bobby Van team. They will have access to police premises; specifically Devizes Borough Police Station where the team works out of, but the area they serve can be local to them.
