Tickets on sale for our first Paws For A Cause dog show

Our Bobby Van Operative Doug Batchelor with a pair of eager pooches

Tickets are now on sale for our inagural Paws For A Cause dog show at Rainscombe Park, Oare, on June 21.

Our first ever dog show will be a fantastic day out for families and four-legged friends in aid of the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust. Held amid the splendid grounds of Rainscombe Park, our canine cavalcade will have something for everyone.

One of the stars of the show will be the Paws For Thought dog display team who will be showing off their agility and intelligence with tricks and fun races. There will even be plenty of chance for the audience to get involved - if they are brave enough. Expert dog trainer Jenny Richards will be passing on some of her valuable insight with a display and talk.

The fast-growing sport of Canicross, cross country running with dogs, will feature in an energetic display to show why is it is gaining in popularity in the UK, Europe and the US.

It won’t just be the display teams taking centre stage, every dog will have its day in our 14 show classes that are open to all. Why not show off your beloved pet in our Waggiest Tail competition or Dog The Judge Most Wants To Take Home and be in with a chance of a rosette and goodie bag?

Dogs aged over six months can enter any of these classes:

  • Most fabulous fella

  • Most lovely lady

  • Precious Pup (6 – 12 months)

  • Golden Oldie (7 years & over)

  • Cutest couple (of dogs)

  • Junior Handler (12 years and under)

  • Junior Handler (12 – 16 years)

  • Best rescue

  • Dog with the waggiest tail

  • Sweetest expression

  • Best Condition dog

  • Best Condition bitch

  • Dog the judge would most like to take home

  • Championship

There is also a Have A Go ring for anyone to show us their dog’s agility and Have-a-go Hoopers.

Everyone loves to see dogs enjoying themselves so a display by K9 Aqua Sports, who will be showcasing the Aqua Sport of dog diving, will be a popular attraction. It’s all about having fun with our canine friends and any breed, size and ability (over six months) can come and join in the soggy, doggy fun.

As well as all the fun and competition for your furry friend, there will be a children’s activity section with lots to do.

Tickets are just £8 if you book in advance and £10 on the day. Carers’ tickets are available at 50 per cent discount and under 12s go free.
